The setting up of the Brewery Museum at Ljubljana's Pivovarna Union brewery in 1986 was an important contribution to the conservation of the city's technical heritage. Visit the museum, see its collection, displayed across more than 600 square metres of exhibition space, and learn about the history and tradition of beer brewing in Slovenia.
The numerous historical industrial brewery items on display testify to the development of all the industries related to beer brewing, from cooperage and the design of beer raising and dispensing equipment to marketing, label design, and transport. Among other things, the museum's collection illustrates the development of the Pivovarna Union brewery from its foundation in 1864 to the present day.
Apart from visiting the museum, you can also take a tour of the brewery's production line and learn about the technological processes involved in the production of beer and other beverages.
The Brewery Museum has received numerous awards, including an EMYA Award for special achievement, handed out by the European Museum Forum.
