The City Museum of Ljubljana is a juncture of knowledge about historical developments of the area on which the city of Ljubljana is located: from the prehistoric pile dwellers’ settlement 4000 years B.C. to the modern urban city and Slovenian capital.
The City Museum hosts a new permanent exhibition named “Faces of Ljubljana”, which portrays Ljubljana as an extremely diverse habitat – as economic, political, administrative and creative centre. The story of the establishment and of Ljubljana isn’t conveyed chronologically, but uses individual thematic complexes to present selected images of the city in different time periods.
