The Vezenine Bled Intergenerational Center is located in the Seliše area, where the highly successful textile factory Vezenine Bled once operated. The factory was closely connected with many families and residents from Bled and the surrounding area. It produced exquisite lace, textiles, and garments that were renowned worldwide.
Today, through its programs and design, the center preserves the memory of the factory, which represented an important part of the local cultural history. The architectural design of the façade also refers to the former Vezenine factory, featuring an abstraction of one of its lace patterns.
The exhibition in the center’s lobby tells the story of the once-thriving textile factory Vezenine Bled (1924–2004), after which the center was named. The exhibition entitled “Vezenine Bled: Eight Decades of the Lace and Embroidery Industry” was prepared by the Gorenjska Museum Kranj, which preserves objects from the legacy of the Vezenine Bled factory.
